About Our Class Names
Our Year 1 classes are named after famous athletes, Usain Bolt and David Beckham.
Usain Bolt was born in Jamaica in 1986. He is famous for holding the world records for 100m and 200m sprints, as well as his famous 'Lightning Bolt' pose. He won 8 gold medals across the Beijing, Rio and London Olympic Games.
David Beckham was born in Britain in 1975. He is famous for his success on the football pitch, having played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, as well as representing England at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Cup competitions. He was knighted for his services to sports and charity by King Charles in 2025.
