Medical Conditions
If you require the school to administer a prescribed medicine to your child, please print and complete the Medicine Indemnity Form below and bring it to the school office with the medicine. We are able to accept medicine which needs to be kept refrigerated. Medicine must not be brought to school by the child or placed in their bags, it must be brought to the school office by the parent/carer.
Please note medicines cannot be left with Kidz Zone, our breakfast and after school club, and can only be handed in to the school office.
FOR KS1 MEDICINE WILL BE GIVEN AT 11:40 & KS2 MEDICINE WILL BE GIVEN AT 12:00 NOON.
(Medicines may be dispensed at alternative times upon request).
If more than one medicine is to be given a separate form should be completed for each.
If your child has a medical condition, either short term or long term, please come to the school office (e.g. diabetes, asthma, epilepsy or others). A Health Care Plan (HCP) can be drawn up to ensure we best meet the medical needs of your child. If your child already has a care plan please ensure the school office has a copy of this.
Although we are able to administer non-prescription medicines, we have experienced parents/carers who self medicate their children, which becomes a safeguarding concern. Please note that any non-prescription medication will only be administered in school for one week, after which parents/carers will need to collect the medication and seek a medical appointment for the child.
Calpol is kept in the school office and parents/carers will be contacted if a First Aider feels your child would benefit from Calpol for pain relief. We will not administer Calpol to relieve a fever, children will need to be collected from school.
