Behaviour
We follow 3 school rules that all staff and pupils have agreed to:
Behaviour Curriculum
We have updated our Behaviour Policy for the academic 2025/26, this is in line with Scholar's Education Trust guidance. At DILS, we strive to ensure that our children are both safe and happy. More than ever, this needs to continue to run through everything we do. Our behaviour curriculum recognises the importance of supporting children's personal and emotional development and we understand that building relationships, routines and rules ensure children are safe - physically and emotionally. Being well-behaved is a combination of skills, aptitudes, habits, inclinations, values and knowledge. These behaviours are taught and revisited through a curriculum to ensure that good learning behaviours will reduce the need to manage misbehaviour.
Behaviour Handbook
At DILS, we place a strong emphasis on fostering a positive school culture where children feel respected, supported, and ready to learn. We use the Zones of Regulation to help children develop self-awareness and strategies for managing their emotions. Our stepped consequences are rooted in natural outcomes, encouraging children to reflect on their choices and learn from them in meaningful ways. Throughout all of this, our school values are embedded, guiding both staff and pupils in how we build relationships and promote positive behaviour. Below is a link to our Behaviour and Relationshipshandbook which details the way that we promote positive behaviour at DILS, including our use of zones of regulation and our stepped consequences approach.
